Many years ago, Uncle Vanus’s son, William Slaughter, along with his wife and children, went on a trip to Idaho to visit Aunt Dorcas. Aunt Dorcas’s children (all grown at the time) played and sang, while William recorded on a portable 78 RPM record machine.
A few years ago, William’s daughter, Lucille, sent me the 78 RPM record and asked me to digitize it, clean it up, and put it on a CD for her. She told me to keep the record, so I still have it. Here is the recording, both Side A and Side B.
Side A
“The Old Rugged Cross”
Side B
“Oh My Father”
[tune: “My Redeemer”]
